father’s day

weird ways of
breathing this trauma of birth-on-earth…

this war and strife
all over

like full body paint

our inventions and advancements

appear

alluring and distracting

while we suffocate the breathability and filtering wisdom of the skin of this body earth

like full body paint

that eventually dries
and cracks and flakes off

and utterly dissolves
in the rain or river

we

we of a species are a
mere temporary veneer

this body earth will
shrug and wash us away with a full-bodied cleanse of an exhale

eventually

i trust

and carry on quite
complete in otherness

without

me

without

us

the inefficiency and irrelevance
of education

or schooling…

comes to light

fathers

breathe

breathe easy

love

love gentle and fierce

…it is

weird

to be

here

that is enough

be here

while you are here

for your children

love
