teachers’ words-of-the-year mini quilts

these are words each of the early school teachers chose in August to attend to this year. i prepared these versions of our words for a meeting we enjoyed yesterday – furthering the studies of our brilliant industrious 3 – 6-year-old students (aka colleagues/teachers… we follow them ; )

i work amongst an incredible family of humans who behold the image-of-the-child as full citizens, radical artists, powerful voices… we humbly aim to help their lights glow ever brighter – never dampened…

i gotta say, in the happenstance of using quilting scraps and words, the pun in the final image below was super fun! the teacher this reflects pronounced the word: conTENT – yet the paper scraps quilted together imply that CONtent can be equally ponderous… wondrous…

(my word is “multiplicity.” last year it was “balance.” that was too much pressure! i tried to shift the load this year!?!?)
